UK Registered Charity No.1127562. Uganda NGO LDLG/11/2030

IN 2006, SANDRA MURPHY TOOK A TRIP TO CHAOS TORN UGANDA AND WITNESSES IMAGES SHE WILL NEVER FORGET.

She saw them whilst working as a volunteer and visiting some of the many displacement camps. These camps were set up for the 1.5 million people who fled their homes following bloody attacks on their villages by rebel forces.

During her month in Lira, a small town in the north, Sandra was so touched by the plight of the many orphans, she pledged to sponsor one boy through school and felt compelled to return to help others. As a result in 2007 Sandra returned to Uganda to realise her dream that was One Step At A Time.

In December 2008 One Step At A Time was granted Charity Statues and continues to go from strength to strength. Combining her life in England with her work in Uganda, Sandra visits Lira as often as possible and has recently purchased a plot of land to build a centre for One Step At A Time.
